The Centre for Cyber Learning was established in July 2009 to make best use of the advances in technology for professional and continuing education. The primary objective in forming the Centre was to provide support for the development of e-learning at HKU SPACE. The Centre focuses on harnessing the essentials for the delivery of quality e-learning services and combining a superior blend of core competencies, including solid strategic thinking, functional frameworks for an e-learning environment, and proven learner-centric methodologies. These elements together constitute the key ingredients of successful e-learning solutions.

The Centre is committed to making HKU SPACE an internationally recognised institution for high quality e-learning development, and a regional institution of excellence in e-learning training and consultancy for educational institutions and the business sector. The Centre strives for excellence in enhancing effectiveness in teaching and learning through the innovative use of information technology in instruction and content design, coupled with ensuring the continuous successful development of e-learning at HKU SPACE and advancing e-learning in the local region.
