Upon completion of the programme, students should be able to:

The C.P.E./Graduate Diploma in English and Hong Kong Law offers a unique—and affordable—route towards legal practice in both Hong Kong and England & Wales. This is a one-year programme that leads to the award of a Manchester Metropolitan University LL.B. (Honours).  All students who have passed the C.P.E./Graduate Diploma in English and Hong Kong Law taught at HKU SPACE and awarded by Manchester Metropolitan University are normally guaranteed places on this course. Applications are also welcome from graduates of other C.P.E./GDL Programmes.  The 4 compulsory subjects studied are all on the list of subjects required for PCLL eligibility.

PCLL Entry Eligibility

To attain the entry eligibility of the Postgraduate Certificate in Laws (PCLL), candidates will have to demonstrate competence in 11 Core Subjects: Contract; Tort; Constitutional Law; Criminal Law; Land Law; Equity; Civil Procedure; Criminal Procedure; Evidence; Business Associations and Commercial Law.

Candidates who hold non-local law qualifications must also demonstrate competence in the following three Top-up Subjects: Hong Kong Constitutional Law; Hong Kong Legal System; Hong Kong Land Law.
