Course Description
The MSc programme in International Construction Management (ICM) seeks to develop creative decision-making and problem-solving skills. It has a strong emphasis on the sustainable management practices that are frequently an important component within the breadth of management issues facing today’s international construction managers.
This programme is offered by HKU SPACE in collaboration with the University of Bath, one of the premier universities in the UK. The programme curriculum has been designed by their Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering, and is offered through a high-quality flexible distance learning experience using work files and text books complemented by web-based activities and support.
The programme structure, as outlined below, comprises six core units, 2 optional units (currently from a choice of 6), an integrative unit (Consolidating Theory and Practice) and a dissertation. Each year, students will be required to attend two 2.5 days session of residential school (before the commencement of each semester) which will include an introductory workshop and a dissertation workshop. The MSc has been designed to be studied over a period of 3 years but the study duration may be contracted down to a minimum period of 15 months and extended to a maximum period of five years.

Recognition
The ICM programme is accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
Entry Requirements
- Applicants should have a first degree in a related discipline from a recognised university and/or hold a professional qualification (e.g. MCIOB, MRICS, MICE, RIBA etc.); or
- Applicants, who have substantial and extensive professional experience in the construction industry, are also eligible to apply.

- Successful applicants may commence their studies in June 2013.

- Essential Information to be submitted by applicants:
- Completed application form;
- Copy of academic transcripts and certificates and/or evidence of professional membership;
- Two reference letters from academic or professional referees;
- Statement of intent for studying the MSc programme (approximately 300 words);
- A proven record of use of English (e.g. students who haveundertaken significant work experience or study where English was the main language of communication, may be accepted, upon submission of evidence of this);
- Two passport-sized photographs.
Payment Method
- The tuition fee for the programme is £9,280 (pounds sterling) and is made in five installments before the commencement of each semester.
- There is a non-refundable application fee of HK$150 due at time of application.
