General English

The HKU SPACE General English Courses should help you achieve such goals.
The HKU SPACE General English Programme offers a series of 90-hour courses catering the needs of elementary to advanced learners. It consists of six levels covering all four language skills: reading, writing, speaking and listening. There are two intakes: October and March.
The Focus Skills series are 45-hour short courses. They are designed to address learners’ needs in accurate grammar, effective writing, good speaking and listening skills, and powerful vocabulary. You will benefit from interactive class activities and will see how much progress can be made in a short time. There are two intakes: November and March.
Business English
The competition to get ahead at work today is intense. Improving your English skills may well be one of the best ways of gaining that promotion or securing that new job. Whatever your field of work, the HKU SPACE Business English courses should help you finetune your skills and communicate with more confidence in English at a higher level in the workplace.
Our Business English Programme consists of four levels, giving you practice in all the English skills required within a work context. It also offers training in more specific workplace skills such as telephoning, memo writing, interviews, meetings, presentations, proposals and report writing.
English for the Professions
The SPACE English for the Professions Series are designed to meet the language needs of working professionals in specific industries: accounting, finance, marketing and advertising, sports management, architecture, engineering, and creative arts.
Our Professional English courses also address language needs of companies and organisations that require their staff to be confident and competent, fluent and articulate in English-speaking contexts.
