Stay Well. Learn Well.
Many people’s lives and careers are currently being affected by the ongoing Covid-19 outbreak. People are becoming exhausted in body and mind, but what can we do? Mindfulness teacher Jon Kabat-Zinn once said: “You can’t stop the waves, but you can learn to surf.” Therefore, instead of feeling helpless, we can take better care of ourselves through self-learning.
The School has already stepped up to enable students to continue learning, even from home, by turning to Virtual Classrooms, Webinars, and communications software like Zoom, SOUL, Vimeo and other online teaching tools.
Continuous learning is not enough unless you maintain a positive attitude. Meditation and Zen, for example, can be excellent ways to ease stress, and prompt a calmer mind. Music can also be a great healer. Even listening to music before we go to sleep can help us to calm and alter our emotions.
It is simply a matter of finding out what works best for you. One place to start could be by tuning into one of our new online public talks to help you stay well and learn well. In the first talk, Dr Sylvia Chen, a renowned local psychiatrist, will share some practical and useful tips on how to embrace the future with positivity, and develop a peaceful and abundant mind. Stay tuned on 28 March! |
