Behind the Scenes with Event Experts

The Hong Kong Tourism Board has long identified events as one of the major pillars in their promotional plan. This encompasses business related events such as meetings, incentive travels, conventions and exhibitions (the MICE Sector) as well as large scale, renowned sports and recreational events such as the Rugby Sevens, the Hong Kong Arts Festivals, the Hong Kong WinterFest, the Hong Kong Chinese New Year Parade etc., all forming a very colourful and exciting calendar for the business travelers and the vacationers alike. Together, these events echo and support the Hong Kong Tourism Board’s efforts in developing the HKSAR into the ‘EventsCapital of Asia’. Whilst the robust industry continues to grow in size and strength, a number of challenges face event managers in leading events successfully and enriching the overall experience of participants.

On 13th January 2012, HKU SPACE College of Business & Finance has invited three event experts to unfold the secrets to planning and managing events successfully. With Hong Kong positioned as Asia’s World City, it is needless to say that staging events with a high level of professionalism is key to the city’s future in making the HKSAR ‘EventsCapital of Asia’. Through this forum, our Event Experts will shed light on the important elements that need to be carefully considered in making an event a real success with their invaluable experience in staging international and mega events.
