El Sistema, founded in 1975 by musician Jose Antonio Abréu, is a collective practice of music through orchestras and choirs which become instruments of social organization and humanistic development. Nowadays, there are around 125 El Sistema programmes over the world, with 44 in the United States and 6 in Asia.

The achievement of El Sistema could be witnessed by its graduates who have become world-renowned musicians, including Gustavo Dudamel (Music and Artistic Director of Los Angeles Philharmonic) and Edicson Ruiz (Double Bass player of Berliner Philharmoniker). El Sistema also nurtured the well-acclaimed Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela (previously Simón Bolívar Youth Orchestra).

In this seminar, you would get to know the implementation of El Sistema over the world and the development of El Sistema in Hong Kong. More importantly, you could experience El Sistema instructed by the experienced educator Ms Melissa Alexandra Niño.
