IT Officer [RF: 2011/12-FT-298-CTOL]
Duties: The appointee is mainly responsible for IT systems administration, setup and maintenance. His/her duties also include system backup and recovery, system security monitoring and control, IT products/services evaluation and acquisition, preparing documentation, conducting user training, support to IT audits, and liaising with other units in various IT projects/tasks.
Requirements:
¡EA Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/ Information Systems /Information Technology or equivalent plus at least four years' relevant working experience in system administration and support;
¡E Proficiency in Linux operating systems and Microsoft Windows system, and their operational managements including system administration, backup and recovery, storage management, system security management, system patches management, availability management, system integration, system performance monitoring and tuning, capacity planning, etc.;
¡EIn-depth knowledge in Directory Services, SQL Databases, Exchange, Open Source technologies, system monitoring tools, system security control tools, System Virtualization technology using VMware ESX and other popular hypervisors and Enterprise Cloud Computing model.
¡ERich Experience in using system programming languages such as UNIX shell scripts, Perl, PHP, C, Java etc.;
¡EKnowledge of computer network and its administration, support and maintenance of web-based SMS solution;
¡EFamiliarity with higher-education institution¡¦s IT operation and needs is highly preferable;
¡EGood analytical and problem solving skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and excellence in team playing and work attitude;
¡EFluency in both written and spoken English and Chinese.
Terms of Appointment: Salary placement will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The contract will normally be for 2 years with the possibility of renewal subject to review. A contract-end gratuity (taxable) will be payable upon satisfactory completion of contract.
