Assistant IT Officer [RF: 2011/12-FT-301-CTOL]
Duties: The appointee will provide daily frontline IT system and end-user technical support in the IT Facility Management Team. He/She will support the operations of computer hardware/software in the school and newly established college, involve in the development of IT system and internal IT audit, maintain IT assets, prepare documentation, conduct user training, and assist in the development and implementation of IT projects, etc. Irregular hours will be required.
Requirements: A Higher Diploma or Associate Degree in Computing/Information Technology or equivalent plus at least three years' relevant working experience in IT facility management and technical support. Bachelor Degree holder in Computing/Information Technology/Computer Science and/or Engineering or equivalent with less working experience will also be considered. Knowledge of installation, configuration and use of Microsoft Windows, Redhat Linux, and VMware software. Familiarity with Intel-base server, PC, notebook, and their accessories, SAN and NAS storage devices, TCP/IP network, IP Telephony, and Smart Card systems, etc. Possession of MCSE and CCNA is a definite advantage. Candidate should possess strong interpersonal and problem solving skills, fluency in both written and spoken English and Chinese, and ability to work independently.
Terms of Appointment: Salary placement will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The contract will normally be for 2 years with the possibility of renewal subject to review. A contract-end gratuity (taxable) will be payable upon satisfactory completion of contract.
