Acupuncture & Tui-Na
Acupuncture and moxibustion (Acup-Moxib), alongside Tui-Na, havebeen used in the treatment of a variety of ailments in China for over two thousand years, due to their convenience, reliability, safety and lack of side effects. Practitioners ofAcup-Moxib and Tui-Na use needles, moxa sticks, moxa cones and special Tui-Na manipulation to stimulate the meridians and acupoints in order to maintain good health, as well as to prevent and cure diseases. The efficacy of acupuncture has been proven in the treatment of 43 diseases so far by the World Health Organisation; in mainland China it is used to treat 461 diseases.
A number of professional programmes are offered tostudents who are interested in a more systematic study on these traditional disciplines. These programmes include Diploma in Acupuncture, Diploma in Tui-Na and Diploma in Clinical Acupuncture programme, the only Chinese medicine programme in Hong Kong in English language.
