Education
There are three major areas of study in education offered by the School: adult education, English language teaching and special education.
Adult education
The Graduate Diploma in Adult Education and Training encourages lifelong learning. First started as a certificate in 1991, it is now a QF level 5 programme for students with or without training and background in education. The course consists of two parts: “Adult Education Theories and Practice” and “Strategies of Learning, Instructional Delivery and Evaluation”.
English language teaching
These courses provide training for teachers of English in the main stream education and those interested in pursuing a career in teaching English to adults and children. It consists of the Certificate in English Language Teaching (Secondary) and various short courses for enhancement of English language teaching.
Special education
The Diploma for Special Education is not just for teachers, but for participants from all backgrounds. It consists of five modules, each specialising in one of the following areas: dyslexia; ADD and ADHD; gifted education; autism / Asperger’s syndrome; and education for the hearing-impaired. Our teachers are all specialists in their fields of expertise.
