General and Environmental Sciences

General and Environmental Sciences

The School provides a wide range of programmes in response to public interest, covering such topics as food safety, pesticide safety and environmental improvement to promote quality of life. Courses are offered at varying levels to provide students with both sound fundamental knowledge and advanced teachings designed to develop professional competencies. Students who complete professionally orientated courses will find themselves qualified to seek employment in fields utilising these skills, such as food safety manager or frontline operator in the pest control industry.

The School also welcomes students pursuing casual studies in this subject area, such as landscape design, which help participants develop an appreciation for and enjoyment of land and objects upon it.

Due to the impact of global urbanisation, there has been an increasing public concern about the promotion, adoption and implementation of green measures by the government, commercial and industrial sectors, leading governments and corporations to invest more on environment-friendly facilities and related projects. In view of this, environmental study programmes are also offered to students pursuing training in green management, sustainability and green building.
