Tourism
To meet the ongoing increase in manpower needs of the tourism sector, the hospitality and tourism subject group has been offering its series of sub-degree and degree programmes for more than a decade. We offer clear progression routes and multi-layered pathways that enable individuals to enter the programmes in accordance with their prior academic background or industry experience.
The Certificate in Travel & Tourism Management provides a strong foundation of operational issues in travel and tourism for those who have either just entered the field or wish to do so. At the Advanced Diploma levels, students may major in Tourism, Tourism Marketing or MICE and Event Management. These programmes encompass general management skills, communication and presentation skills, industry know-how as well as the tourism sector specific management training which, in turn, facilitates cross-sector and cross-cultural learning. Students can further articulate into the top-up Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree programme in Tourism with Plymouth University, one of Britain’s leading universities in tourism.
Taught in English, our teachers have strong academic backgrounds with rich industry experience enabling fruitful in-class discussions on the dynamic, current issues as well as future development factors. All of these provide students with a unique opportunity to gear up themselves and meet challenges and opportunities at the local, regional and international levels in tourism.
