The Colleges 學院 028 The Colleges 學院 College of Life Sciences and Technology The College of Life Sciences and Technology (CLST) aspires to become the most preferred centre for training and continuing professional development for the Hol istic Wel lness and New Technology professions, promoting people’s health and well-being and nurturing leaders of tomorrow to improve the quality of life for all in Hong Kong and the wider community. The College offers a comprehensive range of part-time award-bearing programmes at various academic levels from Foundation Certificate to Postgraduate Diploma, some of which are interdisciplinary in nature while a few are related to professional qualifications. It also runs top-up degree and Master’s degree programmes in Hong Kong in collaboration with overseas universities to provide articulation pathways for students. Besides, microcredentials and short courses for the general public and commissioned courses for both the public and private sectors are developed to cater for the diversified training needs of learners. On the other hand, the College is commissioned by the Education Bureau of the Government to run several Applied Learning (ApL) programmes for senior secondary school students. As a dynamic and innovative academic unit, CLST has been venturing into new areas such as Emerging Technologies, eSports, Environmental and Social Sustainability, Holistic Health and Wellness. It will continue to be proactive in new programme development in the areas of A (Aviation, Transport and Logistics), B (Built Environment), C (Care), D (Data Science) and E (Environmental, Social and Governance) in response to the market trends and needs. The College works closely with professional bodies or associations to ensure that the programmes on offer are constantly updated to address the professional standards in the fields concerned and new programmes are developed to suit the manpower demand of the professions. It maintains strong linkages with related industries for collaboration opportunities, curriculum advice and the enhancement of students’ learning experience. CLST endeavours to promote e-learning and the use of technology in teaching and learning.
