Rapid and wide-ranging changes in global financial markets and regulatory environment create a strong demand for people with expertise in both finance and law. This programme aims to emphasize the relationship between law and financial services. It takes an integrated approach to finance and law by including regulation, financial law, corporate finance, venture capital and corporate governance and introduces students to how financial and legal principles are applied in practice. The programme is recognized by the Institute of Paralegals in the UK.

A number of Internet Finance companies have already graduated from start-ups to listed companies with billion-dollar valuations in the US. Mobile Internet is helping drive new forms of electronic payment, new payments architecture, crowdfunding platform and peer-to-peer lending platform.

This programme aims to equip students with latest knowledge in innovation and applications of Internet Finance and Financial Technology (FinTech). It also focuses on the overall context in FinTech including regulatory framework, regulatory technology (RegTech), evolving digital technology and mobile commerce in finance.

This programme adopts case studies to provide non-financial executives with real life examples on the fundamentals of and practical skillsets in business finance and corporate accounting. This programme consists of four modules: two finance modules and two corporate accounting modules. Students can complete an executive diploma in a minimum of six months.

The profession of Investor Relations (IR) has developed rapidly in recent years. This programme provides the key concepts and practices in IR with a range of practical tools, applications and research. Topics include regulations, compliance, communications and IR practices. The programme is taught by seasoned IR practitioners. Graduates will obtain a one-year Hong Kong Investor Relations Association (HKIRA) Associate Membership to enhance their network in IR field.

Compliance departments across banks and financial institutions have been expanding in both size and importance over the past few years and they look certain to keep growing for the foreseeable future.  Banks, brokerage firms and asset managers across the world are piling more resources into their ‘middle office’ risk and compliance teams to avoid facing massive fines from regulators. Many new jobs have been created in financial compliance due to a shortage of compliance professionals and changing regulatory SFC and HKMA requirements. Increased regulation is creating more opportunities for professionals with exposure to AML, fraud, Anti-bribery Act and investigation.

This programme offers in-depth training in analytical aspects used by financial analysts in different settings including finance department within corporations and financial services institutions. These courses teach the strategies and principles of investment, financial risk management, derivative instruments and alternative investments. Graduates can be admitted directly into year 3 of Edinburgh Napier University’s BA (Hons) Financial Services and complete this part-time degree programme in 2 years.

The Executive Certificate in Big Data, A.I. and Investing aims to provide students with knowledge in Big Data and Artificial Intelligence technologies and their applications in investment management.  Students are expected to be familiar with different big data analyses and A.I. processes upon completion of the programme.

The programme provides an insight on how the current development in these two areas assist and influence investment decision and behaviour.
