梁愛詩博士

Dr the Honorable Elsie Leung served as the first Secretary for Justice from 1997 to 2005.  She was educated in Hong Kong and qualified as a Lawyer in 1967 by passing the Law Society Qualifying Examination studied while working - a lifelong learner from an early stage in her career.  She was one of the first LLM graduates in HKU in 1988.  Dr Leung served on the Executive Council and also on the National People’s Congress and played an important part in the promulgation of the Basic Law.  She is still active in the legal profession as consultant to her first law firm.  Dr Leung has been an active advocate throughout her professional life and, in particular, to advance the role of women in the profession.  She has also been active in helping the disadvantaged. Dr Leung has been honoured by many institutions, including HKU, and holds the Grand Bauhinia Medal.  For HKUSPACE, she has been a regular speaker at events, particularly for the Community College and the School honours her for her distinguished public service and as a Lifelong learner.
