Accepting new application for September 2021 class! Performance Management and Internal Controls class scheduled to be launched on 4 September 2021.

This programme adopts case studies to provide non-financial executives with real life examples on the fundamentals of and practical skillsets in business finance and corporate accounting. This programme consists of four modules: two finance modules and two corporate accounting modules. Students can complete an executive diploma in a minimum of six months.

HKU SPACE designs a series of executive education programmes for non-finance background individuals who are seeking for a competitive edge within a dynamic business environment. Throughout the programme, executives will be able to gain a cutting-edge knowledge with practical skill sets in finance and other respective business disciplines.

The Executive Diploma in Financial Decision Making programme aims to provide non-financial executives with fundamental concepts of corporate finance and corporate accounting. Students will explore to issues and practical strategies of financial management, business strategies and internal controls.

Programme Highlights

  • Enhance analytical skills for financial decision-making situation;
  • Strengthen understanding of underlying corporate finance principles;
  • Build confidence in interpreting financial statements;
  • Apply cost analysis for internal controls.
  • The Executive Diploma in Financial Decision Making award will be conferred to candidates who have attained pass grades in all four modules and achieved at least 70% attendance of the programme.
  • Students who have completed individual modules other than the above options will only be given a Notification of Result (condition apply). 
  • Upon completion of an Executive Diploma, graduates may choose to articulate to other programmes, conditions apply:
    1. Executive Diploma in Investment Banking (Business Valuation & Financing module exemption)
    2. Executive Diploma in Merger and Acquisition (Business Valuation & Financing module exemption)

Tutor: Mr. Stephen Chan

Mr. Stephen Chan has more than 20 years of experience in professional accountants and corporate consulting. He graduated from the School of Accounting and Finance of the Hong Kong Polytechnic Institute and an Executive MBA from the City University of Hong Kong. Mr. Chan once worked in auditing at PricewaterhouseCoopers. After that, he served for the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, the Jockey Club, banks, airlines, and various listed companies. In recent years, Mr. Chan provided consultations on business compliance procedures, corporate financing, and taxation for different companies. He also had diversified teaching experience as a lecturer in various universities.

Tutor: Ms. Isa Kwok

Ms Kwok is a Chartered Management Accountant with over 20 years of post-qualification experience in financial, management accounting and tax planning areas. She had substantial financial analysis and management experiences and held management positions in listed and sizeable organizations and government department. She also has 10 years teaching experiences in accounting and management courses in various local tertiary institutions. Moreover, she has earned a Professional Diploma of Accountancy (ACCA) and a Master of E-Business from City University of Hong Kong, an LLB from the University of London, a Post Graduate of Business Administration from the University of Surrey.

Tutor: Mr. Nelson Hui

Mr. Hui is professional training consultant in areas of finance and investment. He has more than 14 years of teaching experience in global economic analysis, personal finance and investment at HKU SPACE. He is a seasoned financial consultant in areas of investment and wealth management in Core Pacific-Yamaichi International.  He also provides consultancy and training in logical thinking and business strategy for Pasona education, one of the largest Japanese training institutes in HK. Mr. Hui obtained his master degree at the University of Toronto, Canada.
