Clockenflap 2017 takes place over Friday, November 17 to Sunday, November 19, 2017 at Central Harbourfront. Clockenflap is Asia’s premier outdoor music and arts festival, and a major highlight of Hong Kong's annual cultural calendar. Cultivating and celebrating creativity, the festival is an unrivalled cultural mix of local and worldwide talent with a mission to inspire individuals through a journey of music and arts. With a dazzling and diverse selection of activities, Clockenflap is a world-class festival that encourages people to come together with openness and imagination.

In this seminar, the Clockenflap team will share creative marketing insights on their approach for Clockenlfap, which is now in its 10th year. This session will explore the role of vision, creativity, hard work and persistence in building a brand in HK, and discuss the challenges of understanding your core audience and focusing on what’s important to them.

 

Speaker biography

 

Mike Hill - CEO

The CEO of Magnetic Asia, Mike Hill has always had a passion for music, both as a promoter and as an electronic musician. That passion led him to co-found the Clockenflap Music & Arts Festival and assume the role of Festival Director.

 

Mike has also been instrumental in developing support services across areas as diverse as ticketing (Ticketflap.com), artist booking, digital marketing and event technology solutions. He has run various tech-focused businesses and has experience of designing and implementing systems across a range of business sectors.

 

He is also the founder and Managing Director of Kite Systems (www.kitesystems.com), a Hong Kong-based technology company. Mike has a BEng Hons Degree from Nottingham Trent University in Electronics and Computing and an MSc Degree from Liverpool University in Computer Science.

 

Simon Bratt - Chief Marketing Officer

Leading the delivery of Magnetic Asia’s digital marketing service offerings, Simon Bratt orchestrates paid campaigns for Magnetic Asia’s brands, including Clockenflap and YourMum.

 

He also provides services to clients in the entertainment and events segment, including KidsFest, Udderbelly Festival Hong Kong and the Taste of Hong Kong Festival. Simon joined Magnetic Asia in mid-2015 and brings broad strategic, commercial and marketing advisory experience, having worked with a range of organisations across Asia and New Zealand, including multi-national corporations (HSBC, Prudential, Google and others), SOEs such as the NZ Treasury, AirNZ and NZ Post, and start-up businesses.

 

Prior to joining the company, Simon spent eight years with PwC, working as a Senior Manager in the Hong Kong Transaction Services team, and then as an Associate Director in the firm’s New Zealand Commercial Advisory team.
