David joins Standard Chartered Bank in August 2017 as Regional Head, Transaction Banking, GCNA. With almost 25 years of global banking experience, David has a proven track record in the Asia region. He has lived and worked in Singapore, Hong Kong, China, USA, Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom. Prior to joining Standard Chartered Bank, David was based in Singapore with Westpac Banking Corporation as the Head of Corporate & Institutional Banking, Asia and is responsible for the delivery of a broad range of financial services to Westpac’s corporate and institutional customers across Asia. As of February 2016, David provides leadership in Asia for Account Management teams and regional leadership for Trade, Asset and Structured Finance, Loans & Syndications, Credit Portfolio Management and Industry Analytics & Insights teams; plus the Client Service Experience team. David and his team are focused on strengthening Westpac’s presence in Asia, building a business that connects the bank’s customers in Australia and Asia to the increasing trade and capital flows across the region. Before Westpac, David was based in Beijing with J.P. Morgan, as Managing Director, Treasury Services for Greater China. In this role, David was responsible for overseeing the delivery of client service, sales, product and operations across the firm’s Treasury Services and Worldwide Securities Services businesses in China. Before J.P. Morgan, David was Head of Global Transaction Banking for China and Head of Trade Finance, Cash Management and Corporates for Greater China at Deutsche Bank. He also spent close to 15 years as an International Manager at HSBC in a variety of senior corporate relationship banking and product roles. David holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Financial Administration from Michigan State University.

Mr. Alex Kong, Founder and Chairman, TNG FinTech Group

Alex Kong is the Founder and Chairman of TNG FinTech Group, one of the largest FinTech groups in Asia. Alex is a serial entrepreneur with extensive experience in technology and business solutions. He has a long and successful track record of enterprise software development for some of the world’s largest conglomerates and insurance companies through his software company, SINO Dynamic Solutions Limited, now one of Hong Kong’s largest enterprise software developers. Prior to running business in Hong Kong, Alex was the founder of AFOOFA Solutions, a leading business-to-business-to-consumer (B2B2C) travel technology solutions provider to the global travel industry in 1990s, and AsiaTravelMart, one of Asia’s leading travel sites with leading-edge technology. Launched in November 2015, TNG Wallet is The Next Generation e-wallet providing efficient financial services that include electronic payment, P2P money transfer, global remittance, global cash withdrawal, global bill payment, global SIM card top-up and so on. In 2016, it received the Stored Value Facilities Licence (SVF0003) from the Hong Kong Monetary Authority. In Alex’s leadership, TNG Wallet has recorded rapid development in both user base and transaction volumes, with transactions exceeding USD1 billion in the first two years of launch. With a vision to provide financial inclusion to the unbanked populations around the world, Alex also launched “Global E-Wallet Alliance”, which currently covers Hong Kong and 12 Asian countries, including China, the Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal and Pakistan.

Mr. Yew Kiat Phang, Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Chong Sing Holdings FinTech Group Limited

Yew Kiat Phang is the Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Chong Sing Holdings FinTech Group Limited (CSF). CSF is a leading publicly listed (stock code: 8207.HK) Fintech group in Asia. Headquartered in Hong Kong, the company successfully established a fully-integrated Fintech ecosystem, providing efficient intelligent financial lifestyle services via internet & mobile internet channels. Phang began his career with Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) in 1994. Over his 17 years career in banking, he held various management roles across SCB's corporate and consumer banking businesses, including the appointment as Chief Financial Officer for Indonesia & General Manager for Small Medium Enterprises, Singapore & Malaysia. In 2005, Phang was seconded to China to build a brand new national joint-stock bank in Tianjin, China Bohai Bank, and he served as an Executive Director and Deputy Chief Executive Officer for the consumer banking business. He also served as DBS’s Group Head of Strategic Planning. Phang also serves as the Chairman of Remuneration Committee & Independent Non-executive Director and of Chuan Holdings Limited (stock code: 1420.HK). Among the non-profit organizations, he serves as the Chairman to United Nation-Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) Business Advisory Council Task Force on Digital Economy, and the founding Executive Director of Global Blockchain Business Council (GBBC). Phang has a Bachelor degree in Microelectronic Systems Engineering from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology and a Master of Business Administration in International Business from the University of Bristol.

Mr. Pindar Wong, Chairman, VeriFi (Hong Kong) Limited

Pindar Wong is the Chairman of VeriFi (Hong Kong) Limited, a discrete Internet Financial Infrastructure consultancy. Pindar is an Internet pioneer, who co-founded the first licensed Internet Service Provider in HK and leads the 'Belt and Road Blockchain Consortium'. In 2015, he helped organise Asia's first Blockchainworkshops.org, ScalingBitcoin.org (I, II, III) and sponsored the Hong Kong Bitcoin Roundtable.  In 2016 he established a global blockchain research network the bsafe.network to promote applied academic research in blockchain technologies. He chairs the Internet Society's Blockchain Special Interest Group and serves on the Advisory Board of Coindesk. Pindar also serves on the Hong Kong Government's Committee on Innovation, Technology and Re-industrialisation , and as a Director of the Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI). He also serves on the  HK Trade Development Council ICT Services advisory committee and the HKUST School of Engineering Advisory Committee. Previously, he was the first Vice-Chairman of ICANN, Chairman of the Asia Pacific Internet Association, alternate Chairman of Asia Pacific Network Information Center, Co-Public Lead of Creative Commons Hong Kong, Chairman of APRICOT, Commissioner on the Global Commission on Internet Governance and elected Trustee of the Internet Society.

David joins Standard Chartered Bank in August 2017 as Regional Head, Transaction Banking, GCNA.

Yanchun is currently leading the TechIDEAL.  She had held previous media positions as Deputy and Executive Editor in Chief of the Oriental Business, the bilingual Hong Kong Business Herald est. in 1947, and Resident Economic Commentary Author for Economic Daily of the Mainland based in the United Nations in New York City.

Before her media roles, Yanchun had worked in higher education and multinational technology firm as tenure associate professor and in charge of Innovation Services respectively and authored IBM White Papers on ERP and financial risk management.

In her media role, Yanchun has interviewed various Nobel Laureate economists, global 100 flagship CEOs, national leaders and the former Secretary General of the United Nations. She was also invited as speaker of the 2010 San Diego WTC Annual Conference on Global Economic Outlook, the quadrennial 2016 Global Forum for Media Development, and the 2017 ICTPI, the International Conference on Technology Policy & Innovation.

Yanchun co-founded a Tech startup company in 2018, which owns six national and overseas blockchain technology related patents.
