The arts and cultural development in Hong Kong in recent years has spurred the need for quality education for managers/administrators in these sectors. The School offers both Master and Postgraduate Diploma programmes to provide practical and theoretical knowledge for those who are interested in pursuing a career in arts and culture, creative industries and museum management. These programmes are also suitable for art administrators, teachers, curators and event administrators who are already working in the cultural sector or museum and galleries sector, helping them to develop new knowledge and skills for career advancement.
Hong Kong's cultural and creative industries have grown at a rate faster than the overall economy in recent years. This Programme is designed to equip you with practical knowledge of the activities, structures and processes involved in the management in this dynamic sector.
This programme aims to enable students to make an in-depth pursuit in both academic studies (criticism and theory) and practices (applied skills) in contemporary photography. The overall background and knowledge of contemporary issues in photography will be discussed. Students are expected to deal with historical perspectives, criticism and theory in photography and to explore contemporary lens-based image-making through a curriculum in the culture, history, theory and practice of photography. Students will be trained to reflect their learning through essays and photographic project work.
