Acupuncture & Tui-Na
Acupuncture and moxibustion (Acup-Moxib), alongside Tui-Na, have been used in the treatment of a variety of ailments in China for over two thousand years, due to their convenience, reliability, safety and lack of side effects. Practitioners of Acup-Moxib and Tui-Nause needles, moxa sticks, moxa cones and special Tui-Na manipulation to stimulate the meridians and acupoints in order to maintain good health, as well as to prevent and cure diseases. The efficacy of acupuncture has been proven in the treatment of 43 diseases so far by the World Health Organization; in Mainland China it is used to treat 461 diseases.
A number of professional programmes are offered to students who are interested in a more systematic study on these traditional disciplines. These programmes include Diploma in Acupuncture, Diploma in Tui-Na, and Diploma in Clinical Acupuncture, the Chinese medicine programme conducted in English.
This programme consists of two parts. Each part consists of one module. Students who have completed one module of Part 1 can choose to exit the programme. Completion of one module will lead to a Certificate in Acupuncture. Upon successful completion of Part 1 and Part 2, students will be awarded a Diploma in Clinical Acupuncture.
