Public awareness of the importance of nutrition and health has increased the demand for quality education in food and nutrition. Since 1995, the Dietetics, Food and Nutrition area has offered quality education in food and nutritional sciences to those with a personal or professional interest in the field.
We provide an extensive articulation network of programmes for students who wish to study part-time, from short courses, certificates, and diplomas to degree (Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Food and Nutrition) and Master levels (MSc/PgD in Human Nutrition / Dietetics).
Our flagship programme, the Postgraduate Diploma in Dietetics, is the only local programme that trains students to be dietitians. Graduates are qualified for employment as dietitians in Hong Kong with the Hong Kong Department of Health and the Hospital Authority. In addition, graduates are eligible to apply for registration as dietitians with the HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council, UK).
This course aims to equip students with the knowledge of genetics and the cutting-edge technologies to understand how diet interacts with our genes, so as to be able to interpret the test results for personalised nutrition advice.
