Ensuring Hong Kong’s position as the world city of Asia and maintaining Hong Kong’s reputation as one of the world’s safest cities in the 21st Century require effective public management and efficient criminal justice system at all levels to keep pace with the modern societal development. The development and differentiation in these areas have offered a wide range of career opportunities in the community not only in the fields of criminal justice and law enforcement, but also in the fields of public management.
The School offers part-time programmes in criminal justice, law enforcement as well as public management for those who are already serving in the related fields, those who are interested in career advancement and those who will further studies in these fields. These programmes all aim with the common objectives of equipping the participants both with the broad professional knowledge and essential competent skills necessary to function effectively as personnel in the fields of public management, criminal justice and law enforcement such as policing, anti-corruption and correctional services etc. In particular, these programmes will also prepare the participants with a broad-based foundation in social sciences and hence giving them the potential to pursue higher-level studies in the related disciplines.
