城市對市民在不同方面有重要作用,例如社會福利,經濟增長和環境影響等。隨著其日益增加的重要性,許多國家和城市一直努力建立各自的智慧城市。香港政府亦已製定智慧城市藍圖,務求令香港擠身成為世界級的智慧城市之一。
此課程旨在培養學生對各種建築技術和資訊科技的認知、理解及作出批判性評價,從而使他們掌握建設智慧城市的知識和技能。
A city plays an important role for the well-being of the citizens, in terms of different aspects, for instance, social welfare, economic growth and environmental impacts. Along with its growing importance, numerous countries and cities have been endeavouring to build their respective smart cities worldwide. In Hong Kong, the government is also working hard and aspired to become one of the world-class smart cities, first by setting the Smart City Blueprint.
This Constructing Smart Cities programme aims to develop students’ awareness, understanding and critical appreciation of a wide range of construction technologies and information technologies and hence equip them with the knowledge and skills towards constructing smart cities.

完成課程後,學生應能夠:

On completion of the programme, students should be able to
- explain fundamental concepts and important attributes of smart cities
- develop fundamental knowledge and skills of various conventional and advanced technologies throughout the building life cycle
- integrate relevant information technologies with construction practices for constructing smart cities
- demonstrate problem-solving skills through tackling smart city related issues with multi-disciplinary knowledge
- appreciate the values and contributions of building and construction in modern cities
- develop self-understanding for further studies and career development in the related field

學銜 Award
按香港大學體制,經香港大學專業進修學院頒授「建構智慧城市(高中應用學習)證書」予成功畢業的同學(出席率達80%或以上及於評核課業中取得合格成績)。
Student who successfully completed the programme (have at least 80% attendance and achieve qualified results in assessment tasks) will be awarded "Certificate in Constructing Smart Cities (Senior Secondary Applied Learning)" within the HKU system through HKU SPACE.
視乎報讀人數提供粵語及/或英語授課
The programme can be delivered in either English or Cantonese, depending on the number of applicants.
上課模式 Class Mode
模式一:
逢星期六上午及/或下午上課,或全日上課,每課3小時,於香港大學專業進修學院教學中心上課,部份課堂亦會安排於暑假進行。
模式二:
由學校及香港大學專業進修學院安排,可選擇於平日及/或週六上課,視乎有關設施及器材需要,部份課堂會於香港大學專業進修學院教學中心上課,部份課堂亦會安排於暑假進行。
Mode 1:
3 hours lesson in every Saturday morning and/or afternoon, or full day lesson at HKU SPACE Learning Centres. Summer class will be arranged.
Mode 2:
Arranged by secondary school and HKU SPACE; class can be arranged on weekday and/or Saturday. Depends on the equipment/facility needed, some lessons may be held at HKU SPACE Learning Centre. Summer class will be arranged.

報讀者必需為課程發展議會(CDC)建議下新高中學制之中四學生
Applicants shall be current Secondary 4 students who are following the senior secondary curriculum recommended by the Curriculum Development Council (CDC).
學生須於每年2月至4月中透過所屬中學向教育局申請,詳情請向所屬中學查詢。
Students must apply through their schools from mid February to mid April. Please contact your secondary school for details.
付款方法課程費用由所屬中學及教育局全數資助。
課程費用為港幣18,000,分兩期繳交。
選擇上課模式二的中學將根據學校提供的埸地設施及學校老師參與授課的程度作出減免。
Course fee will be subsidized by secondary school and the Education Bureau.
Course fee is HK$18,000 and paid by 2 installments.
For class mode 2, course fee will be partially exempted according to the teaching venue and teaching support provided by the partner secondary school.
