此課程旨在培養學生對各種建築技術和資訊科技的認知、理解及作出批判性評價，從而使他們掌握建設智慧城市的知識和技能。

A city plays an important role for the well-being of the citizens, in terms of different aspects, for instance, social welfare, economic growth and environmental impacts. Along with its growing importance, numerous countries and cities have been endeavouring to build their respective smart cities worldwide. In Hong Kong, the government is also working hard and aspired to become one of the world-class smart cities, first by setting the Smart City Blueprint.

This Constructing Smart Cities programme aims to develop students’ awareness, understanding and critical appreciation of a wide range of construction technologies and information technologies and hence equip them with the knowledge and skills towards constructing smart cities.

The programme consists of 180 hours (60 lessons) and is divided into 4 modules.

學習成效 Learning outcomes

完成課程後，學生應能夠：

1. 解釋智慧城市的基本概念和重要特性；
2. 在整個建築生命週期中提升各種傳統和先進技術的基本知識和技能；
3. 建設智慧城市時能夠結合相關資訊技術；
4. 利用多角度知識處理與智慧城市有關的議題，以展示解決問題能力；
5. 體會建構現代城市的價值和貢獻；
6. 提升相關範疇之升學及就業發展所需的自我認知。

On completion of the programme, students should be able to

1. explain fundamental concepts and important attributes of smart cities
2. develop fundamental knowledge and skills of various conventional and advanced technologies throughout the building life cycle
3. integrate relevant information technologies with construction practices for constructing smart cities
4. demonstrate problem-solving skills through tackling smart city related issues with multi-disciplinary knowledge
5. appreciate the values and contributions of building and construction in modern cities
6. develop self-understanding for further studies and career development in the related field

包括專題研習、筆試 、實務評估、書面報告及口頭匯報
Includes case study, written test, practical exercise, project and presentation

學銜 Award

按香港大學體制，經香港大學專業進修學院頒授「建構智慧城市（高中應用學習）證書」予成功畢業的同學（出席率達80%或以上及於評核課業中取得合格成績）。
Student who successfully completed the programme (have at least 80% attendance and achieve qualified results in assessment tasks) will be awarded "Certificate in Constructing Smart Cities (Senior Secondary Applied Learning)" within the HKU system through HKU SPACE.
