Non-Local Higher and Professional Education (Regulation) Ordinance

This is an exempted course under the Non-local Higher and Professional Education (Regulation) Ordinance. It is a matter of discretion for individual employers to recognize any qualification to which this course may lead.

  • a good UK honours degree or equivalent or an acceptable professional qualification;


  • a postgraduate degree or diploma from a recognised institution;


  • satisfy the University's English Language Requirements (e.g. IELTS 6.5 (7.0 in writing preferred); 90 (IBT); the University of Leicester English Language Test);
  • at least three years’ relevant work experience in a supervisory, managerial or professional role(s).

For MBA applicants who cannot fully meet the standard entry requirements but they satisfy the University's English Language Requirements and have five or more years of relevant work experience, applicants will require one of the following:

  • Completion of the MBA Admissions Assessment: this is a 400 word online essay completed in 1 hour which asks applicants to reflect on their relevant work experience and consider how the programme will benefit them. Applicants will then be invited to a 30 minutes welcome conversation via Skype with the MBA Director in which their essay with be discussed;

New students will automatically receive a Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership from the CMI on completion of their MBA. Students also benefit from free membership to the CMI for the duration of their studies.
