Under its motto “Education with a Global Vision”, CIDP was set up in 2003 to offer full-time overseas university degree progammes, providing local sub-degree graduates with a clear pathway to undergraduate education in collaboration with globally renowned universities.
Forty students were admitted in 2002/03 for two programmes focusing on arts, media and business disciplines. To date, CIDP has nurtured a cumulative total of five thousand graduates. “Looking back upon its decade-long development, the most remarkable achievement was not the substantial increase in the graduate numbers, but the widespread recognition for CIDP’s quality international partnership and knowledgeable graduates from public, employers as well as professional bodies.” Ken Wong, Head of Centre for International Degree Programmes, recalled.
Over the past ten years, CIDP successfully distinguished itself from other tertiary institutions by its application–oriented education and global vision. It endeavours to train students with a holistic approach to professional training. “In addition to undergraduate programmes, CIDP started to offer master’s degree and executive programmes last year, and I foresee that the Centre will introduce more postgraduate level programmes in response to the social needs.” Mr Wong continued. |
