Broaden knowledge from the little things in life
Even though our work and lives are getting back to normal as the COVID situation appears to be improving, we still need to deal with the “new normal” and the opportunities and challenges it offers. Almost every industry and much of our daily lives have been completely changed, we therefore need to be able to adapt quickly. Other than equipping ourselves with new skills, it is far more important to keep our heads up and adjust to how we feel about life overall. Thinking from different perspectives can generate creative ideas, bring new joy to life, and open the gate to a treasure-trove of knowledge.
For example, it turns out that the water we drink every day is a kind of allergen; tulips once hit Europe with a huge economic bubble few centuries ago; emojis in our text messages are secretly becoming the new global language; and as technology develops, the skyscrapers we work or live in can now be built by 3D-printing!
New knowledge is everywhere. And a great place to get it is at HKU SPACE. Acquire the knowledge, skills and know-how you need to embrace life again and flourish in our new normal. The School offers nearly 1,900 Continuing Education Fund (CEF) reimbursable courses, which cover 60 different areas of interest. Download our new Autumn prospectus HERE or collect a copy at any of our learning centres or distribution points for more information on our courses.
