The programme wi l l cover topics such as digital environment, social media characteristics, development of digital campaigns and the use of digital and social media platforms for various HR activities. It will also discuss how digital platforms can be used for employer branding. This programme aims to equip students with a solid foundation in the principles of employment law and common workplace issues. The programme covers the concepts of contract law, employment law and the contract of employment within an organisation. It also examines the safety, health and welfare of employees at work and discusses methods of dealing with common workplace issues such as discrimination, harassment, theft, threats and violence, drug and alcohol abuse. It also includes a discussion on workplace problems and the process of conducting such investigation. This programme is an introduction to the core concepts of human resource management and aims to equip students with solid knowledge of human resource principles and an overview of the HR evolution. The programme discusses the evolving role of human resource management, from its past task-oriented role to its future strategy-driven role in an organisation. It covers key concepts in human resource management such as workforce planning, analysis, design and future workforce trends like gig economy, remote working and agility. It discusses the development and importance of learning and development in an organisation and covers topics such as how learning and development works, how to identify, execute and measure the success of a learning programme. It also covers the different styles of adult learning and evolving skills necessary for the future of work.
