Overview
The programme “Bachelor of Aviation Management”, in collaboration with the Swinburne University of Technology from Australia , aims to produce graduates who seek to play a key role in bringing changes to the aviation industry. Students gain insight into how airlines and airports operate run-in prepare them for management roles in the aviation industry. Students gain a sound professional understanding of the aviation industry and its associated environment, as well as skills in organizational, regulatory, safety, technical as well as business management.

The Department of Aviation of Swinburne has been offering programmes in aviation for more than three decades. Swinburne was one of the first Australian universities to offer aviation programmes and has been a partner of the Qantas Future Pilot Program. Swinburne is now offers three aviation bachelor degree programmes (Bachelor of Aviation, Bachelor of Aviation and Piloting and Bachelor of Aviation Management) and two postgraduate programmes (Graduation Certificate of Aviation in Piloting and Master of Aviation Management). Swinburne’s degree provides students with real industry experience to ensure students are job-ready. Swinburne collaborates with the CAE Oxford Aviation Academy (COAA) to provide practical training for aviation students.

Teaching
Programme Structure
Swinburne’s programme offered at HKUSPACE is top-up degree programme, consisting of 8 units. Students who have successfully completed a Higher Diploma in Aviation Studies/ Higher Diploma in Airline and Airport Services/ Higher Diploma in Aviation and Piloting or approved equivalent qualification will be given 200 advanced credit exemptions, and are expected to complete the 8 units below in 3 semesters.

Duration of Study AND AWARD
The normal duration of the programme is 3 years. With exemptions from 200 Swinburne credits, students will complete the programme in 1.5 years.
Upon satisfactory completion of the programme, students will be awarded the Bachelor of Aviation Management by the Swinburne University of Technology. Students have the options to graduate in Hong Kong or Melbourne.
Teaching mode
The programme will be delivered in full-time mode. The teaching methods include lectures, tutorials, workshops and research projects.
Assessment
Assessment will be done by assignment, quiz, project and examination. All assessment will be set by Swinburne University of Technology.

Funding
Tuition Fee
The full tuition fee* for the 2025/26 intake is HK$105,000.
* The tuition fee is reviewed annually and is subject to change without prior notice.
Government Financial Assistance Schemes
Financial Assistance Scheme for Post-secondary Students (FASP) /
Non-means-tested Loan Scheme for Post-secondary Students (NLSPS)
This programme has been successfully accredited by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academics and Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ). Students enrolled in this programme are eligible to apply for the HKSAR Government’s grants and low interest loans, i.e. FASP and NLSPS.
Extended Non-means-tested Loan Scheme (ENLS)
Students are eligible to apply for the Extended Non-means-tested Loan Scheme (ENLS) administered by the HKSAR Government’s Students Financial Office (SFO). The maximum financial assistance under the ENLS is equivalent to the total tuition fee payable to the HKU SPACE in the academic year.
Continuing Education Fund (CEF)
This programme and the modules have been included in the list of reimbursable courses for Continuing Education Fund (CEF) purposes.

Scholarships will be given by the Swinburne University of Technology to the new student with outstanding achievement in their Associate Degree/ Higher Diploma/ Advanced Diploma study for enrolling in the Bachelor of Aviation Management programme.

Applicants shall:
| i) | hold an Advanced Diploma / Associate Degree / Higher Diploma in an aviation-related discipline awarded within the HKU system through HKU SPACE#; |
| or | |
| ii) | hold a recognised Advanced Diploma / Associate Degree / Higher Diploma in an aviation-related discipline awarded by a recognised institution in Hong Kong |

| | If the qualification is from an institution where the language of teaching and assessment is not English, provide evidence of English proficiency such as an overall band of 6.0 or above in the IELTS with no individual band below 6.0 |
