HKU SPACE’s sub-degree programmes were highly commended!
Established in 1957, HKU SPACE is the oldest continuing education provider and also the first sub-degree provider since 2000. The Quality Audit Report on sub-degree operations released recently by the Quality Assurance Council (QAC) of the University Grants Committee (UGC), highly commended the School’s excellent policies and procedures, comprehensive and informative documentation, as well as the commitment and enthusiasm of the teaching staff, in both full-time and part-time sub-degree programmes.
To assure the quality of the programmes, the School has a strict set of monitoring and reviewing mechanisms. The Audit Panel recognised that the School takes a meticulous approach to programme approval and annual monitoring which draws on external feedback and has adopted an integrated and continuous process of curriculum design, programme development and approval that is both comprehensive and effective. The positive comments were very encouraging, which affirmed our high level of commitment to quality assurance.
The School’s sub degree programmes are well-structured with up-to-date contents, keeping track of the evolving society. This year, four new full-time sub-degree programmes with vocational and professional education focus have been launched to offer more choices to students, including Higher Diploma in Aviation and Piloting, Higher Diploma in Data Science, Higher Diploma in eSports and Higher Diploma in Geotechnical Engineering. Besides, part-time sub-degree programmes covering Business, Languages, Chinese Medicine, Social Sciences, Healthcare and more are offered for working adults.
HKU SPACE副學位課程獲高度肯定
學院於1957年成立，一直跟香港社會一同成長，既是香港歷史最悠久的持續教育機構，亦是首間提供副學位課程的學院。最近大學教育資助委員會轄下的質素保證局公佈《質素核證報告》，學院的全日制及兼讀制副學位課程獲得高度讚揚，不僅具備完善的政策及程序、以及詳盡全面的文件資料，教學人員亦盡心竭力、熱誠投入。
對於課程質素，學院有一套嚴格的監察和評核標準。評審小組確認學院在課程審批及周年監察工作方面一絲不苟，並能吸納校外意見，在課程內容設計、發展及審批方面採用了整合和持續的過程全面和有效。《報告》的多項正面評價對學院是極大的鼓舞，肯定學院在持續教育領域上的優秀學術表現。
副學位課程內容一直與時並進，放眼香港發展，今年將有四個全新職業專才導向的全日制副學位課程推出，為學生提供更多選擇，包括航空及飛行高級文憑、數據科學高級文憑、電子競技高級文憑及土力工程高級文憑。兼讀制副學位課程亦涵蓋商業、語言、中醫、社會科學，以及護理等科目，讓在職人士進修增值。 |
