Alumni Week 2025: How to thrive in the AI era

AI is reshaping the global landscape from commerce to industry and almost every aspect of our daily lives. To stay ahead in this new era, we will all need to learn faster and be more practical to seize opportunities and create impact.

HKU SPACE Alumni is thus devoting its annual Alumni Week to AI. Running from October to December, the “Alumni week 2025” will feature a series of exciting talks and events that will immerse alumni in cutting-edge AI technology and a fusion of diverse cultures that is simply not to be missed.

Three specialists will share insights into industry trends and developments surrounding AI. Mr Keith Li, Chairman of the Hong Kong Wireless Technology Industry Association (WTIA), will discuss practical strategies to leverage Generative AI (GenAI) across industries and integrate it efficiently into daily workflows.

Mr Clement Ho, Director of Arup, will focus on Hong Kong's Low Altitude Economy (LAE). He will explore opportunities, challenges and innovations for air mobility, logistics and economic activity in the airspace under 1000 metres and propose development and recommendations.

Professor Wong Ka Sing Lawrence, Emeritus Professor at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, will share insights into emerging trends in the diagnosis and treatment of neurological diseases, focusing on innovative AI technological advancements and future directions.

The Alumni Week will also feature a visit to the Kai Tak Sports Park, Hong Kong's largest sports venue, and a guided tour of a special exhibition at the Hong Kong Palace Museum. These will allow attendees to discover the unique intersection of inspiration in knowledge and art.

HKU SPACE alumni and the public are welcome to attend all these events. Priority of enrolment will be accorded to Alumni Life Members. Lastly, we will be recruiting volunteers for the UNICEF Charity Run, inviting you to join together in supporting children's rights and contributing a positive impact to society. Some events have limited seats, so please enrol early to enjoy this excellent opportunity to understand more about the coming AI era and how to thrive in it.
