HKU SPACE CC: A new route to university starts here
DSE results are not the end of your academic journey. There are other ways to reach your preferred University programme. For example, the HKU SPACE CC Associate Degree and Higher Diploma programmes offer university-aligned teaching and curricula, with experienced lecturers who will strengthen your foundation for reaching your desired university. Here are some thoughts from past students who took this path.
After disappointing DSE results, Adam doubted whether higher education was right for him, so he stepped into the workforce. But after two years, he decided to sign up for the CC’s Higher Diploma in Public Relations and Corporate Communication^. Finally, he got excellent results and a conditional offer from PolyU to join their Social Policy and Social Entrepreneurship programme. He was thrilled and realised that a single exam at one point in your life doesn’t define your future.
Another student, called King, also fell short in the DSE, but chose to sign up for the CC’s Higher Diploma in Business. He did well, and later received conditional offers from four local universities, including HKU which was the one he wanted! In the end, he joined their BSc in Information Management programme, validating his choice to study at CC.
Yoyo, another CC student, missed out on her DSE results. She’d set her sights on a law degree and was devastated. She enrolled in CC’s Associate of Arts in Legal Studies to give herself a second chance. The programme’s planned mix of theory and case analyses helped her understand the profession better, while the CC Student Ambassadors Scheme helped her to build up her soft skills through event planning. After two years, she received a conditional offer from CityU to join their Bachelor of Laws programme which put her well on the path to fulfilling her dream of becoming a solicitor.
Last year, over two-thirds of CC students just like Adam, King and Yoyo were admitted to UGC-funded degree programmes*. So, don’t despair if your DSE results were not what you hoped for. 自小對法律感興趣的Yoyo，DSE成績未如理想，最後選擇報讀CC的文學副學士（法律學），為自己爭取第二次追夢的機會。課程結合理論與案例分析，有助她掌握行業運作。她亦透過學生大使計劃，籌備活動提升軟實力，讓校園生活更豐富精彩。兩年的學習堅定了她成為律師的想法，最終獲城大法律學有條件取錄，朝夢想進發。
