The 2014 Autumn Prospectus is now published. With more than 1,000 different programmes on offer, learning opportunities are almost unlimited, from exciting new professional upgrade programmes to meet new career challenges to life and mind-enriching or health promotion programmes to meet personal learning needs.

 
  Languages and literature

Korean pop culture is taking Asian countries by storm. This autumn, the School is offering a plurality of Korean language courses from rudimentary to higher diploma levels ¡V in addition to other European and Asian language courses. There are also courses in introductory creative writing, texts and analysis on famous 15th to 17th century European paintings, American literature and identity and the politics of storytelling.

The School offers even more art and cultural courses this season, including contemporary art and performing arts. In response to the concern about world affairs, the School is delighted to offer a number of courses examining different cultures and enthnicity to enable learners understand our contemporary world and its social and political atlas.

  Chinese medicine and health promotion

Acupuncture is a special Chinese healing technique that has been in popular use for some 2,000 years due to its reliable efficacy and safety. The School offers a number of clinical acupuncture courses to teach students how to use needles at acupoints to relieve pain and tackle common neural system disorders as well as cervical-spinal and joint diseases. Courses promoting health such as meditation and stress management are also introduced.

As an international financial centre and business metropolis, Hong Kong places the highest importance on the training of relevant professionals to sustain the city's international status. Therefore the School has prepared a number of short courses to award bearing in accounting, finance, banking and management to help strengthen local human resources and enhance competitiveness.

As regards professional education, the School has been organising a wide range of programmes to help students upgrade their professionalism to develop their careers. The School is well-versed in the provision of postgraduate studies, through which graduate students may further improve their academic standing. Postgraduate studies with HKU SPACE include courses in service-enhancing I.T. for medical and healthcare practitioners, acupuncture and Chinese medical healthcare. And for target-specific students, the School even offers courses in museum management and photography.
