Highlights

The programme aims to develop students to be professionals in the field of marketing communications so that they are able to employ appropriate instruments for delivering the most relevant message to the target audiences. They will be able to help company obtain long term benefits through efficient appropriation of the expenses. Both conceptual and tactical knowledge will be delivered to enable students to make decisions for solving daily business problems as well as to establish good conceptual background to face challenges in future.

PROGRAMME STRUCTURE

The programme consists of 11 modules:

  1. IMC Principles   
  2. Consumer Psychology and Insights Generation
  3. Experience Design and Needs Management
  4. Marketing Strategies in the Digital Age
  5. Platforms and Media Communications Strategies
  6. Data-driven Marketing Decision Making
  7. Creative Content Marketing Management
  8. Effective Public Relations and Crisis Management
  9. Interactive Marketing and CRM
  10. Brand Leadership
  11. Final Project

Upon completion of the above modules, students will be awarded within HKU System through HKU SPACE a Postgraduate Diploma in Consumer Psychology and Intelligent Marketing. Meanwhile, only one module will be offered each month.

 

INTENDED LEARNING OUTCOMES

On completion of the programme, students should be able to:

  1. Rigorously analyse marketing communications environment in order to design effective Integrated Marketing Communications methods and build brand leadership;
  2. Employ marketing and communications concepts to manage the enterprise communications process and design a comprehensive creative content marketing communications strategy;
  3. Select appropriate communications messages, platforms and media to solve corporate marketing problems based on the results of environmental analysis and research;
  4. Critically evaluate the communication activities and maintain good customer relation by utilizing tools such as database;
  5. Use the advanced business knowledge to establish good internal and external relations with different business partners and society.

Entry Requirements

Applicants shall hold a bachelor’s degree awarded by a recognized institution with 3 years’ relevant work experience.

If the degree or equivalent qualification is from an institution where the language of teaching and assessment is not English, applicants shall provide evidence of English proficiency, such as:

  1. an overall band of 6.0 or above with no subtests lower than 5.5 in the IELTS; or
  2. a score of 550 or above in the paper-based TOEFL, or a score of 213 or above in the computer-based TOEFL, or a score of 80 or above in the internet-based TOEFL; or
  3. HKALE Use of English at Grade E or above; or
  4. HKDSE Examination English Language at Level 3 or above; or
  5. equivalent qualifications.

Applicants with other qualifications and relevant work experience will be considered on individual merit.

  1. Duly completed HKU SPACE application form (SF26);

  2. Copy of HKID Card#;

  3. Certified true copies of full educational certificates and transcripts;

  4. Testimonials or other documentary proof of the applicant’s work experience;

  5. A 500-word letter outlining the applicant's education, training and working experience, and saying how he/she would benefit from the programme;

  6. Resume; and

  7. A crossed cheque or bank draft of HK$150 made payable to "HKU SPACE" as application fee (non-refundable)

To study in Hong Kong, all non-local applicants are required to obtain a student visa issued by the Immigration Department of the HKSAR Government, except for those admitted to Hong Kong for employment or as dependants, who do not need prior approval before taking up part-time studies. It is the responsibility of individual applicants to make appropriate visa arrangements. Holding an acceptance letter to a HKU SPACE academic programme/course does not guarantee the issue of a student visa.
