香港人經常去日本，但有否發現一般從香港飛往日本的航班，去程會比回程快？不是因為時差或者地球自轉，而是跟順逆風有關。香港向日本的天空有一條高速噴射氣流，飛機都會根據每日的氣流位置調整航道，務求「食住風勢」去，慳油又慳時間。但回程時因遇上對頭氣流，就算盡量避開仍然阻力較大，自然要慢一些才回到香港，另外香港飛美國都有此情況。
