Mr. Karlson Wong, Executive Director, Kee Wah Bakery Limited
Karlson Wong joined Kee Wah Bakery in the start of 2011 as Executive Director in charge of the sales and marketing department. Prior to joining Kee Wah, he has worked as a strategic planner in marketing and communications for the world's top agencies, like Synovate and Ogilvy and Mather, in both Hong Kong and Beijing. His vast experience in branding strategy and digital communication with clients like China Mobile, IBM, Audi in Greater China has allowed him to keep the 78 year old heritage bakery brand fresh and engaging to today's consumers. In these years, he has successfully extended Kee Wah's brand relevance and appeal to the younger generation through new product development, e-commerce platforms, social media engagement, and new strategic partnerships. Karlson currently leads a team of young and energetic professionals in the sales, retail, and marketing department, who are all committed to the growth of one of Hong Kong's most prestigious traditional bakeries, and more importantly, to preserving a piece of culture that belongs to Hong Kong.

Our City, Our Brands – The “Hong Kong Brand Stories” Seminar Series
The College of Business and Finance of HKUSPACE has introduced the "Hong Kong Brand Stories" seminar series. We have invited prominent speakers from famous local brands to share with audience their insights in brand management, e.g. the globally renowned ethnic Chinese Sauce Group Lee Kum Kee, Hong Kong’s longest- established supermarket network Wellcome, and one of the Hong Kong leading travel agencies – EGL tours.

For every single successful Hong Kong brand, there involves an epic journey from the brand’s initial launch and development to becoming a market phenomenon. The “Hong Kong Brand Stories” seminar series aims to unveil some of the secrets behind the success of these local brands and how they have evolved to becoming well known household brands in Hong Kong. Representatives from various Hong Kong brand will share with students and public their unique stories and marketing strategies which led to the brand’s success.
Hong Kong Brand Story Series – KEE WAH BAKERY
Kee Wah Bakery was established in 1938 from a small neighborhood grocery store on Shanghai Street in Yau Ma Tei. It is a traditional family operated company with modern management and marketing style that drives the brand to be an innovative and unique Hong Kong brand developing wide variety of products such as bridal cakes, mooncakes and pastries. Mr. Karlson Wong, Executive Director will share with audience the intriguing brand story and successful brand strategies of Kee Wah Bakery.
Hong Kong Brand Story Series Finale cum Hong Kong Brand Idea Awards Presentation 2016 will be co-organized by HKU SPACE and Hong Kong Brand Development Council. Winning teams from the Executive Certificate in Brand Management and Executive Certificate in Brand Communications respectively will be awarded the Best Brand Idea Awards with honorary prizes. Please join us to celebrate the outstanding student project achievement.
