Course Description
This programme provides students with a solid foundation in business studies. Students will have the opportunity to acquire broad based management skills covering economic, social and quantitative rationalizations of business decisions, appraisal of legal frameworks and business environments of Hong Kong and PRC, and business communication skills. Holders of this award may be eligible to apply to study the University of London International Programmes BSc programmes, with exemptions up to a maximum of 3.5 units out of a total of 12 units. They may also be eligible to apply to the University of Plymouth Bsc (Hons) Business Management, with exemptions from 9 modules out of a total 17 modules. Curtin University will also admit these holders into their Bachelor of Commerce programmes, with exemptions from 10 units out of a total of 24 units. Upon completion of nine modules, students who wish to exit this programme will be awarded the Diploma in Business Management.
Duration
- 1.5 - 5 years; Weekday evenings and weekends; possibly including Sundays and Public Holidays.
Medium of Instruction
- English, supplemented with Cantonese. For Chinese & English Communication Skills, both Chinese and English are used for assessment.
Programme Structure
The programme structure of the Advanced Diploma in Business Management consists of 12 modules listed in the following four terms of studies (Terms I to IV).
Students are required to study the 12 modules in the order progressing from Term I to Term IV.

(* Not ALL of these elective modules will be offered in each term)
- a. Face-to-face teaching of 33 hours per course.
- b. Assessment is based on coursework and examinations.
- c. There are 3 intakes each year, in March, July and November.

Entry Requirements
Applicant shall:
(a)
- have gained in HKCEE Grade E in 4 subjects (including Mathematics) and Level 2 in English Language*, or equivalent; and
- one A - level pass or two AS- level passes in any subject or other equivalent post-secondary qualifications;
OR
(b) hold a Certificate in Business and Economics awarded through HKUSPACE within the HKU system;
OR
(c) have gained in the HKDSE Examination Level 2 in 5 subjects including English Langauge;
OR
(d) be aged 21 and above.
* With effect from 2007, HKU SPACE recognizes Grade E previously awarded for English Language (Syllabus B) (Grade C in English Language (Syllabus A)) at HKCEE as an acceptable alternative to Level 2 in this subject at HKCEE.

Continuing Education Fund
The HKU SPACE Advanced Diploma in Business Management has been approved under the list of reimbursable courses for the purpose of Continuing Education Fund (CEF) for 11 modules. Eligible applicants will be reimbursed up to 80% of their fees, subject to a maximum sum of $10,000, on successful completion of a course on the reimbursable course list or module(s) forming part of the course.
Applications are processed on a first-come-first served basis, subject to the availability of funds. Applicants should submit their applications as soon as they have been enrolled in, and have paid for, the first course for which reimbursement of fees is to be made and in any event, before the commencement of the course. Late applications will not be accepted. The date of receipt of the application by the Office of the Continuing Education fund will be taken as the date of application.
The CEF application and reimbursement forms can be obtained from Office of the Continuing Education Fund website: http://www.sfaa.gov.hk/cef/. Please note that it is the student’s responsibility to ensure that the certified CEF application must reach the CEF office before the course commencement date. If an applicant has not received any reply 4 weeks after submitting his/her application, the applicant should contact OCEF at Room 916, 9/F, Kwai Hing Government Offices, 166-174 Hing Fong Road, Kwai Chung, N.T. or call up 3142 2277 to follow up as soon as possible.

- drop the Completed Form in our Collection Box with a stamped (HK$1.40) and self-addressed envelope. We will return the Stamped Form and the yellow CEF Official Receipt to you within 5 working days by mail if all supplied information is correct.
Step 3
Send the Stamped Form and a copy of your HK Identity Card to the HKSAR CEF Office before the course commences
RememberNOT to submit your yellow CEF Official Receipt with your stamped form. You should keep it to claim reimbursement when you have successfully completed your course.

Place the completed CEF Reimbursement Claim Form in an A4 size envelope marked “Claiming for CEF Reimbursement – Advanced Diploma in Management Studies” with the following supporting documents:
- A copy of your yellow CEF Official Receipt issued by HKU SPACE;
- A copy of HKU SPACE’s letter of Exam Result Notification (all copies submitted are not returnable);
- A self-addressed stamped (HK$1.40) envelope (9.5” x 4.25”)
(All documents will be sent back to students if they have failed to submit the necessary information.)

Drop the A4 size envelope, containing all relevant documents, in the Collection Box at one of our centers.
