Programme Details
Interpretation of Financial Statements
This module is an introduction to corporate accounting for non-financial executives. Topics include the theoretical concepts and practices involved in the recognition and subsequent accounting for assets, liabilities, equity, revenues, expenses, preparation of general-purpose financial reports for both single companies and groups of companies. Specific topics such as tax-effect accounting, disclosures, revaluation of assets, application and interpretation of financial statement analysis will be covered.
此課程教授非財務行政人員企業會計的理論概念和實踐。課程將使用財務報表作案例研究,教學重點包括資產,負債,權益,收入,費用等概念,如何為個體公司和集團企業編制通用的財務報告。此外,課程也涵蓋特定議題﹕納稅的影響,需披露的資料,資產重估,應用程序和財務報表的分析。
A Statement of Attendance will be issued to students who have achieved 70% of class attendance.
A Statement of Achievement will be issued to students who have achieved 70% of class attendance and achieved a passing grade in the overall assessment.
Statement of Attendance/ Achievement available witin 3 months after completion of the course.

Tutor :
(1) Mr. Stephen Chan
Mr. Stephen Chan has more than 20 years of experience in professional accountants and corporate consulting. He graduated from the School of Accounting and Finance of the Hong Kong Polytechnic Institute and an Executive MBA from the City University of Hong Kong. Mr. Chan once worked in auditing at PricewaterhouseCoopers. After that, he served for the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, the Jockey Club, banks, airlines, and various listed companies. In recent years, Mr. Chan provided consultations on business compliance procedures, corporate financing, and taxation for different companies. He also had diversified teaching experience as a lecturer in various universities.
(2) Ms Isa Kwok
Ms Kwok is a Chartered Management Accountant with over 20 years of post qualification experience in financial, management accounting & tax planning areas. She had substantial financial analysis & management experiences and held management positions in listed/sizeable organizations & government department. She also has 10 years teaching experiences in accounting & management courses in various local tertiary institutions.

Course Fee- HKD$4500 per module (course fees are non-refundable and subject to change without prior notice)
Entry Requirements
Applicants shall hold:
- a bachelor’s degree awarded by a recognized University or equivalent; or
- an Associate Degree/a Higher Diploma or equivalent, and have at least 2 years of work experience; or
- a recognized professional qualification.
Applicants with other qualifications and substantial senior level work experience will be considered on individual merits.

- Course fee of HKD4500 (by cheque or credit card - visa or master card)
Payment is accepted by Cheque (should be made payable to "HKU SPACE"), Visacard or Mastercard. Cash and EPS is not accepted. Receipt will be issued for course fees upon confirmation of enrollment.
