This programme aims to prepare registered nurses for an advanced role in a clinical nursing specialty, namely, Enterostomal Therapy Nursing (ETN), within a range of health care settings. This programme aims to equip enrolled nurses with essential competencies for safe, effective, and ethical practice, to achieve the Core-Competencies for Registered Nurses (General) required by the Nursing Council of Hong Kong (NCHK). Upon completion this programme and having passed the examinations, graduates will be eligible to apply for registration with the NCHK as a Registered Nurse (General) [RN (G)] in Hong Kong.

This programme aims to develop a deep and critical understanding of the impact of frailty on an individual’s health and well-being, both physically and psychologically. 

It will provide students with an opportunity to debate and evaluate evidence based, person centred strategies and/or interventions (such as falls management) for active ageing, self-management and independence, in an inter-professional context. Students will critically evaluate the application of these approaches in their own individual practice area.

This programme focuses on critically applying knowledge and understanding to support service development for people with long term conditions’; promoting self-management and collaborative working. This programme is based on best practice discussed within national and international policy and guidelines. It will explore in depth the impact of long-term conditions on the individual, their family and carers.

 

The programme aims to encourage practitioners to further develop their knowledge and skills in order to maximise person centred care during routine practice and develop services to support individuals with long term conditions’ in line with health and social care policy.

Occupational Health Psychology, also known as OHP, is an interdisciplinary study in the field of psychology where much of the emphasis is placed on improving the safety and well-being of employees in the workplace through application of psychotherapeutic principles and behavioral change. OHP can help the employee address specific emotional or work-related wellness issues. The purpose of this short course is to provide participants with opportunities to become more aware of and to understand the concepts of occupational health psychology in the Hong Kong contexts.
