Mr Sham Dominic Joseph (BSc Business)
With merely a two-digit score in HKCEE and a 3.0 Final GPA in the Higher Diploma, I was shocked at the moment when I realized that I successfully graduated with a 1st Class Honours.
Initially, I chose to study this LSE-led University of London degree programme instead of other degrees programmes which were available to me, both local and international, mainly due to its international reputation. However, what I got from this programme is much more than a degree, I was able to explore and enhance my interests, skills and mentality which are very useful for both academic and vocational use.
It may seem that it is easy to get into this degree programme and obtain a decent result from it, it is absolutely not. This programme requires us to make up our own study schedule and use our time wisely as what makes the whole academic year count is the final examination in May. Although assignments, mid-term and mock examinations do not contribute directly to the final mark of the subject nor to the final award classification, they should be attempted by heart as they are the only opportunities for us to test our understanding and knowledge on that subject.
I am currently working in an accounting and auditing firm alongside with my attempt to obtain a CPA qualification of the CPA Australia and also of the HKICPA in the future. I am also planning to pursue a Master’s degree in Corporate Governance, in order to further enhance my knowledge in the accounting, auditing and corporate service industry.
I would like to take this invaluable opportunity to thank my dear, my mother, my friends and classmates who supported and helped me throughout the 3-year undergraduate journey. I would also like to show my sincere gratitude to the University of London and HKU SPACE for giving me this opportunity to study the BSc in Business programme with them.
Thank you very much and I wish all of you who are studying, will be studying or wish to study with the University of London and HKU SPACE all the best in your academic studies and your future career.
