About the HKIRA

Hong Kong Investor Relations Association (HKIRA) is a non-profit professional association comprising investor relations practitioners and corporate officers responsible for communication between corporate management and the investment community. HKIRA advocates the setting of international standards in IR education, advances the best IR practices and meets the professional development needs of those interested in pursuing the investor relations profession.

HKIRA is dedicated to advancing the practice of IR as well as the professional competency and status of its members. HKIRA has about 1,300 members, most of whom are working for companies primarily listed on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong in 2024. About 70% of the Hang Seng Index Constituent Stock companies are members of HKIRA. Highlights

The programme aims to equip students with the principles of investor relations (IR) and the application of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) best practice within the IR role. It will cover the practices of investor relations, company report analysis, communication strategies in IR, ESG reporting requirements for the listed companies in Hong Kong, and effective ESG disclosures. The programme will also explore the growing importance of ESG in investment decision-making and how to develop a compelling ESG narrative that resonates with investors.
 

Speakers

Dr. Eva Chan, Chairman, Hong Kong Investor Relations Association

Eva

Dr. Chan is the Head of Investor Relations of a Hong Kong stock exchange-listed company. She has more than 25 years of experience and was the CFO and company secretary of various listed companies in Hong Kong. She is mainly responsible for formulating the IR strategies for the company and conducting meetings with investors and fund managers all over the world. She also leads in a number of corporate finance exercises and corporate restructuring activities. Dr. Chan is an Independent Non-Executive Director of a Hong Kong stock exchange-listed company and is appointed as an Adjunct Professor in the School of Accounting and Finance of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

Dr. Chan graduated from the City University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting. She then earned her MBA degree from the University of Nottingham. She also obtained a DBA degree from the Polytechnic University of Hong Kong. She is a fellow member of the Hong Kong Investor Relations Association, a fellow member of the Hong Kong Institute of Chartered Secretaries, a fellow member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and a fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

 

Ms. Esther Chan, Executive Director, Strategic Financial Relations Limited
Esther

Esther Chan is an investor relations and public relations veteran with over 25 years of solid experience. Since joining SPRG in 1998, she has played an instrumental role in expanding business for the Group’s financial arm and has spearheaded numerous pioneering campaigns, several of which have gone on to win prestigious regional awards.

Esther’s professionalism is the product of experience gained both locally and abroad, having worked in the United States and served as a journalist at two of the most respected media organisations in Hong Kong, namely, Hong Kong Economic Journal and South China Morning Post. Additionally, Esther honed her analytical skills at a pan-Asian regional securities house before joining SPRG, where she subsequently developed her proficiency in investor relations management. With well-rounded professional capabilities, Esther has been devising holistic financial communications strategies for clients in Greater China and overseas, including fast-growing Chinese corporations, Fortune Global 500 companies and world-renowned brands.

At SPRG, Esther has advised more than 150 listed companies, financial institutions and professional firms on their IR and PR programmes. She has directed over 100 IPO communication campaigns, including mega-IPOs for Chinese corporations and the maiden IPOs of Brazilian, Canadian, Japanese, Mongolian and Russian companies at the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, as well as HDR issuances. She has also trained hundreds of directors of listed companies and financial institutions, covering such topics as financial relations and crisis management.

Esther is frequently invited to speak about investor relations and IPO communications at conferences in Asia and Europe, including those organised by the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

 

Ms. Christy Lam, Director of Investor Relations, Link REIT

Christy Lam

Ms. Christy Lam is the Director of Investor Relations at Link REIT, bringing over 20 years of diverse experience in investor relations, institutional business, banking, and audit. Before her current role, she was the General Manager of Investor and Stakeholder Engagement at New World Development Co. Ltd. and Head of Institutional Business at DBS Vickers Securities in Hong Kong.

Christy holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) from the University of British Columbia. She is also a CFA and ACCA holder and possesses a Certificate in Investor Relations (CIR) and a Certificate in ESG Investing. As an active IR Panel Member at the Hong Kong Investor Relations Association (HKIRA), she contributes to advancing the field.

Her exceptional contributions to investor relations have been recognized as she was named the top-ranked "Best IR Professional" for four consecutive years (2022-2025) in the Institutional Investor All-Asia Executive Team (Rest of Asia) and achieved the first position in the All-Asia Executive Team (Overall) in 2024.

 

Mr. Alvin Wong

Mr. Alvin Wong has over 20 years of experience in property equity research across the Asia-Pacific region, with a focus on the Hong Kong and China markets. He previously held leadership roles at renowned international investment banks including CLSA, Credit Suisse, Barclays, and Nomura. Throughout his career, Alvin was deeply involved in numerous IPOs and financing projects for property developers across Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Malaysia, and India, and recently expanded his research to Vietnam. Mr. Wong has been consistently recognized by leading institutions as one of the top sell-side analysts in the sector.

He holds a Master’s degree in Finance from the University of Strathclyde and a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics with a minor in Computer Science from The Chinese University of Hong Kong.

 

Mr. Hauman Yeung

Hauman Yeung

Mr. Yeung is a prominent figure in Hong Kong's environmental movement, boasting over 30 years of experience in sustainability. From 1993 to 1995, he was funded by the UNEP to lead a reforestation project in Guizhou Province, China. In 1995, he initiated an eco-village project in collaboration with South China Agricultural University.

Between 2004 and 2008, Mr. Yeung worked for LESS Limited, where he developed investment criteria for environmental projects in China, potentially establishing the first fund globally to create its own stringent ESG system. Currently, he leads the ESG team at Ascent Partners Advisory Service Limited, supporting over 500 listed companies in Hong Kong with their ESG reporting.

In 2019, he collaborated with Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the UN to provide training for the Ministry of Finance of Bhutan, assisting them in issuing their first-ever national Green Bond. From 2022 to 2024, he was invited by UN ESCAP as a special consultant to help develop the Asia Pacific Green Deal. Mr. Yeung is widely recognized as a respected authority in sustainable development and environmental protection.

 

Ms. Silvia Fun, Head of Group Investor Relations and Corporate Communications, CTF Services Limited

Silvia Fun

Ms. Silvia Fun currently serves as the Head of Group Investor Relations and Corporate Communications at CTF Services Limited. She joined the company in early 2024. She employs a proactive investor outreach strategy to enhance the investment community's awareness of CTFS. Her goal is to improve investor engagement and support corporate finance activities through a wide variety of organized events and meetings.

Silvia brings extensive experience in equity research, investor relations, credit agencies, and auditing. From 2021 to 2023, she led the Investor Relations team at Link REIT, the largest and most liquid REIT in Asia. Prior to this, she was a Director at Fitch Ratings, where she was responsible for credit rating analysis of Greater China property issuers. Her career also includes roles in equity research at Morgan Stanley and CCB International Securities, covering the financial sector in the Asia Pacific region. Additionally, she has experience with Credit Suisse Private Banking, Bloomberg L.P., and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Silvia holds a Master of Science in Financial Analysis from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Hong Kong. She is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a Certified Public Accountant. Since 2021, she has been a member of the Hong Kong Investor Relations Association IR Panel.

In recognition of her transparent and effective communication with investors, Silvia was honored with the top spot in the 'Best IR Professional' category of Asia (Ex-Japan) Executive Team Survey conducted by Extel (formerly known as Institutional Investor) in 2022, 2023 and 2025.

 

Ms. Joann Law, Head of Investor Relations, Blue Moon Group Holdings Limited

Ms. Joann Law was appointed as the Head of Investor Relations of Blue Moon Group Holdings Limited in May 2020. Ms. Law has over 13 years of experience in investment banking and has extensive experience in corporate finance. Prior to joining the Group in 2020, Ms. Law worked as the Investor Relations Director in the largest private education company in China listed on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited. Ms. Law holds an MBA degree from Cardiff University and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Hong Kong.

Ms. Jenny Huang, Co-founder, Euroland IR

Jenny Huang

Jenny Huang, as a co-founder of Euroland IR. She is a part of the Euroland group executive team and leads the Asia & Pacific region as Managing Director. She graduated with a master's degree in business administration from Gothenburg University. She started a business consulting company in 1990 in Gothenburg and later a company in Beijing providing Ericsson's wireless data infrastructure and applications to the Chinese market. She opened Euroland's presence in China in 2011. Her genuine interests in people and pragmatic problem-solving skills have built trust and long-term engagement in providing Euroland's Best Practice IR solutions in the region

Entry Requirements

Applicants shall hold a bachelor’s degree awarded by a recognised institution. If the degree or equivalent qualification is from an institution where the language of teaching and assessment is not English, applicants shall provide evidence of English proficiency, such as:

  1. an overall band of 6.0 or above with no subtests lower than 5.5 in the IELTS; or
  2. a score of 550 or above in the paper-based TOEFL, or a score of 213 or above in the computer-based TOEFL, or a score of 80 or above on the internet-based TOEFL; or
  3. HKALE Use of English at Grade E or above; or
  4. HKDSE Examination English Language at Level 3 or above; or
  5. equivalent qualifications.

Course fees can be paid by cash, EPS, WeChat Pay or Alipay at any HKU SPACE Enrolment Centres.

2. Cheque Or Bank draft

Course fees can also be paid by crossed cheque or bank draft made payable to “HKU SPACE”. Please specify the programme title(s) for application and applicant’s name. You may either:

  • bring the completed form(s), together with the appropriate course or application fees in the form of a cheque, and any required supporting documents to any of the HKU SPACE enrolment centres;
  • or mail the above documents to any of the HKU SPACE Enrolment Centres, specifying “Course Application” on the envelope. HKU SPACE will not be responsible for any loss of personal information and payment sent by mail.
3. VISA/Mastercard

Applicants may also pay the course fee by VISA or Mastercard, including the “HKU SPACE Mastercard”, at any HKU SPACE enrolment centres. Holders of the HKU SPACE Mastercard can enjoy a 10-month interest-free instalment period for courses with a tuition fee worth a minimum of HK$2,000; however, the course applicant must also be the cardholder himself/herself. 4. Online Payment

Online application / enrolment is offered for most open admission courses (enrolled on first come, first served basis) and selected award-bearing programmes. Application fees and course fees of these programmes/courses can be settled by using "PPS by Internet" (not available via mobile phones), VISA or Mastercard. In addition to the aforesaid online payment channels, new and continuing students of award-bearing programmes with available online service, they may also pay their course fees by Online WeChat Pay, Online Alipay or Faster Payment System (FPS). Please refer to Enrolment Methods - Online Enrolment  for details.

Notes

  • If the programme/course is starting within five working days, application by post is not recommended to avoid any delays. Applicants are advised to enrol in person at HKU SPACE Enrolment Centres and avoid making cheque payment under this circumstance.

  • Fees paid are not refundable except under very exceptional circumstances (e.g. course cancellation due to insufficient enrolment), subject to the School’s discretion. In exceptional cases where a refund is approved, fees paid by cash, EPS, WeChat Pay, Alipay, cheque, FPS or PPS by Internet will be reimbursed by a cheque, and fees paid by credit card will be reimbursed to the credit card account used for payment. 

  • In addition to the published fees, there may be additional costs associated with individual programmes. Please refer to the relevant course brochures or direct any enquiries to the relevant programme team for details.
  • Fees and places on courses cannot be transferrable from one applicant to another. Once accepted onto a course, the student may not change to another course without approval from HKU SPACE. A processing fee of HK$120 will be levied on each approved transfer.
