A good command of English is key for a successful career in the legal industry in Hong Kong. This course provides tailor-made training for law students and practitioners to significantly improve their legal and business writing and communication skills in English.  With 45-hour intensive training on legal and business communication, presentation, debating and writing, participants will attain a higher level of English proficiency at work.

Highlights

A minimum standard of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) test must be achieved as a requirement for admission to the PCLL. At present, the prescribed minimum IELTS overall band score is 7. This is a requirement of the Hong Kong Standing Committee on Legal Education and Training.

Programme Details

This is an excellent preparation course for students who are seeking to achieve the IELTS overall band score of 7, as a requirement for admission to the PCLL.

Additionally, we provide law students and junior practitioners, through IELTS test skills practice, with a higher level of proficiency and command of English which is vital for legal professionals.

Students will:

  • master different approaches and strategies that are needed to succeed in IELTS.
  • obtain timed practice in attempting every section of the test
  • practise speed reading strategies to cope with reading texts and questions
