Interest levels in sport, exercise and wellness have increased rapidly in the last few years. From new technology detecting daily movements and calories burned per workout to healthy diets, the healthy lifestyle has become priority for everyone. 

Arguably, the participation in sports and physical activity is associated with improved physical, mental and social health. 

Considering the success of Hong Kong athletes and teams successfully representing Hong Kong at the major sporting events such as the summer Olympic Games, Asian Championships and World Championships, the Hong Kong’s sports and recreation industry has experienced sharp growth. As a result, there is a vast demand for sport and recreation professionals in both public and private sectors.        

We offer a wide range of academic courses and flexible study pathways, that update students with current knowledge and practices in the fields of recreation, sports, wellness, and exercise.

This programme enables learners to study part of the wide range of modules available in Advanced Diploma in Sport Coaching and Performance programme.

Learners may choose any of the modules listed below and enrol for a maximum of two modules per semester. Students are assessed by written assignments and examinations as prescribed in the Advanced Diploma programme. Credits accumulated are fully transferable to the Advanced Diploma in Sport Coaching and Performance programme, should the participant wish to finish the entire Advanced Diploma programme.

PROGRAMME OBJECTIVE

This programme aims to provide students with the basic concepts and knowledge in tourism and hospitality. It covers a wide range of industrial knowledge, including vast majority of business organisations, structures in travel and tourism industries as well as different career pathways in airlines, theme parks, travel agencies, hotels, restaurants, and cruise industry. Upon completion of the programme, students will be able to identify and examine travellers’ purposes of visiting a destination and travellers’ motivations by understanding the industrial trends, statistics, contributing factors and stages in the historical development of tourism. The new travelling modes and experiences in 21st Century as well as the professional ethic consideration will also be discussed via various real-world case studies.
