Join us for this live webinar introducing the Museum Studies (Hong Kong) distance learning programme. This one-hour session will provide you with an opportunity to hear about the structure of this course, its distinctive features and how you can apply.
Over the past 50 years, the School of Museum Studies at the University of Leicester has acquired a global reputation for leading-edge thinking and experimental practice in museum studies. In the School, researchers, practitioners and postgraduate students come together to think creatively and critically about museums, galleries and heritage. The University’s research is ranked 30 in the UK in the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2021, according to analysis by Times Higher Education, and has been awarded a Gold rating in the UK’s Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) 2023.
This distance learning degree will provide you with a thorough understanding of the major theoretical, methodological and professional themes at the forefront of contemporary museum studies. The course will equip you with the skills to creatively and critically apply the knowledge you gain within specific professional contexts.
The Hong Kong course follows the same curriculum as the regular distance learning Museum Studies course, but you will benefit from an additional Study Week designed especially for Hong Kong students each year led by academics from the School of Museum Studies. We also run this course with Hong Kong University which has been developed for those based in or near Hong Kong.
