How to Apply

By utilising their lunch hours, this English listening online course aims to sharpen the listening skills of working adults who seldom use English in their workplace.

Highlights

English listening skills could be developed and strengthened with constant exposure to authentic English audio and video materials under the guidance of language teachers.

Unlike regular English language courses, this short course aims to provide trice 45 minutes of English exposure weekly during lunch hours over Zoom meetings or Voov meetings, drilling students’ English listening skills on topics that are frequently encountered in society. By the end of the course, students will be able to recognise and understand the meaning of around 180 English words and phrases related to 36 topics under six themes, thus widening students’ lexical range, improving their listening comprehension, and applying those words and phrases in their conversations.

The course aims to enhance the English listening skills of lower intermediate and intermediate-level students.
