BIS: Your Passport to Information Adventures!

Hi there, I’m Alan Chan, a graduate of the Bachelor of Information Studies (BIS) at CSU, Class of 2017.

After completing HDLIM at HKU SPACE, I chose to study BIS because it offered a clear and efficient path to a degree, which I was able to complete in just two years.

I am now working in the Technical Services Division of a university library, where I apply the skills, I gained from the programme every day. The programme provided me with a strong foundation in library and information science, including collection development, research, and more.

The visits to information agencies - both local and international, conducted online and virtually - gave me practical insights into how different organisations operate. These experiences have been directly beneficial to my work.

The programme is accredited by ALIA (Australian Library and Information Association), which is a valuable advantage when job hunting. It demonstrates that the qualification meets professional standards and is recognised across the industry.
