Graduates of the programme will have direct entry into the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Human Resource Management, and subsequently into the Master of Arts in Human Resource Management, in collaboration with the University of Plymouth.

Highlights

This programme aims to provide students with essential knowledge and practical skills in human resource management, while integrating digital tools and artificial intelligence to meet the evolving demands of the modern workplace. It is designed for learners without prior technical background and assists HR practitioners or professionals with people management responsibilities in acquiring applied learning and workplace readiness skills.

This programme is designed to cater to the diverse needs of students, offering 6 core modules along with 2 specialized modules from one of 3 tailored streams of specialism.
 

These streams provide an opportunity for HR students to deepen their knowledge in a focused area of interest, equipping them with cutting-edge skills and expertise

The 3 streams are:

Stream 1: AI and People Analytics
The AI and People Analytics Stream is designed to offer students an understanding of artificial intelligence and data analytics with a focus on human resource topics. It enables students to interpret HR data and apply AI tools to support HR decision-making and workforce planning in digitally evolving organisations.
 
Stream 2: Employment Law and Governance
The Employment Law and Governance Stream provides students with a strong grasp of employment laws, governance, and compliance to handle common employment-related issues in traditional and tech-enabled environments.
 
Stream 3: Workplace Psychology and Team Dynamics
The Workplace Psychology and Team Dynamics Stream offers students an understanding of individual and team psychology within organisations. It equips students with psychological insights and practical strategies to foster team cohesion and motivation, and lead in evolving work environments.

Programme Details

Advanced Diploma in Human Resource Management for the AI and Digital Age comprises 8 modules with a total of 120 credits:

Learning Outcomes

On completion of the programme, students should be able to:
  1. formulate and implement human resource strategies and operational plans that align with organisational goals and drive workforce effectiveness in digitally evolving environments
  2. apply HR practices and AI-enhanced tools across talent acquisition and management, performance management, and organisational development to support business needs
  3. incorporate ethical, legal, and compliance considerations into HR practices to promote fairness, accountability, and responsible people management in digitally evolving organisations
  4. evaluate organisational behaviour and learning and development needs to foster a positive workplace culture and support continuous employee development
Stream 1: AI and People Analytics
  1. apply people analytics techniques to interpret HR data and support evidence-based decision-making
  2. evaluate the strategic use of AI applications to enhance the efficiency and productivity of HR tasks and processes
  3. utilise AI and people analytics to generate HR insights, automate HR tasks, and enhance operational effectiveness in human resource management
Stream 2: Employment Law and Governance
  1. apply employment law principles to address common HR issues in organisations
  2. implement ethical leadership principles and governance frameworks to guide responsible HR decision-making and conduct in  digital workplaces 
  3. integrate legal and ethical considerations into HR governance practices to promote fairness, accountability and compliance in  digitally evolving workplaces
Stream 3: Workplace Psychology and Team Dynamics
  1. analyse behavioural factors and apply psychological principles to support motivation and employee engagement in hybrid, remote, and face-to-face environments;
  2. implement effective leadership approaches and team management strategies that foster collaboration, communication and performance across evolving workplace contexts;
  3. integrate psychological and leadership strategies to enhance team effectiveness and performance in digitally enabled and evolving work environments.

Award

Advanced Diploma:

Upon passing of all the continuous assessments and the exams students will be awarded within the HKU system through HKU SPACE the “Advanced Diploma in Human Resource Management for the AI and Digital Age”.

Diploma:

Students who complete the modules Essentials of Business and HR Strategy, Talent Acquisition and People Management in the Digital Age, Performance and Reward Management in the Digital Age, and one elective module from Legal Compliance and Ethical HR Practices in the Digital Age, Organisational Behaviour and Culture in the Digital Workplace, or Learning and Development in the Digital Workplace, can exit the programme with a “Diploma in Human Resource Management for the Artificial Intelligence and Digital Age, awarded within the HKU system through HKU SPACE.

Entry Requirements

Applicants shall:

(a) have gained in the HKDSE Examination Level 2 in 5 subjects including English Language and Mathematics;

OR

(b) (i) have gained in HKCEE Grade E in 4 subjects (including Mathematics) and Level 2 in English Language*,
 
     or equivalent; AND                                                                                                                                                               
(ii) one A-level pass or two AS-level passes in any subject or other equivalent post-secondary qualifications;
 

OR


(c) hold a HKQF Level 3 or equivalent Certificate in human resource management, business or related discipline.

Applicants who are aged 21 and above with relevant work experience will be considered on individual merit.

*With effect from 2007, HKU SPACE recognises Grade E previously awarded for English Language (Syllabus B) (grade C in the case of Syllabus A) at HKCEE as an acceptable alternative to Level 2 in this subject at HKCEE.

Enrolment Method
Payment Method
1. Cash, EPS, WeChat Pay Or Alipay

Course fees can be paid by cash, EPS, WeChat Pay or Alipay at any HKU SPACE Enrolment Centres.

2. Cheque Or Bank draft

Course fees can also be paid by crossed cheque or bank draft made payable to “HKU SPACE”. Please specify the programme title(s) for application and applicant’s name. You may either:

  • bring the completed form(s), together with the appropriate course or application fees in the form of a cheque, and any required supporting documents to any of the HKU SPACE enrolment centres;
  • or mail the above documents to any of the HKU SPACE Enrolment Centres, specifying “Course Application” on the envelope. HKU SPACE will not be responsible for any loss of personal information and payment sent by mail.
3. VISA/Mastercard

Applicants may also pay the course fee by VISA or Mastercard, including the “HKU SPACE Mastercard”, at any HKU SPACE enrolment centres. Holders of the HKU SPACE Mastercard can enjoy a 10-month interest-free instalment period for courses with a tuition fee worth a minimum of HK$2,000; however, the course applicant must also be the cardholder himself/herself. For enquiries, please contact our staff at any enrolment centres.

4. Online Payment

Online application / enrolment is offered for most open admission courses (enrolled on first come, first served basis) and selected award-bearing programmes. Application fees and course fees of these programmes/courses can be settled by using "PPS by Internet" (not available via mobile phones), VISA or Mastercard. In addition to the aforesaid online payment channels, new and continuing students of award-bearing programmes with available online service, they may also pay their course fees by Online WeChat Pay, Online Alipay or Faster Payment System (FPS). Please refer to Enrolment Methods - Online Enrolment  for details.

Notes

  • If the programme/course is starting within five working days, application by post is not recommended to avoid any delays. Applicants are advised to enrol in person at HKU SPACE Enrolment Centres and avoid making cheque payment under this circumstance.

  • Fees paid are not refundable except under very exceptional circumstances (e.g. course cancellation due to insufficient enrolment), subject to the School’s discretion. In exceptional cases where a refund is approved, fees paid by cash, EPS, WeChat Pay, Alipay, cheque, FPS or PPS by Internet will be reimbursed by a cheque, and fees paid by credit card will be reimbursed to the credit card account used for payment. 

  • In addition to the published fees, there may be additional costs associated with individual programmes. Please refer to the relevant course brochures or direct any enquiries to the relevant programme team for details.
  • Fees and places on courses cannot be transferrable from one applicant to another. Once accepted onto a course, the student may not change to another course without approval from HKU SPACE. A processing fee of HK$120 will be levied on each approved transfer.
  • HKU SPACE will not be responsible for any loss of payment, receipt, or personal information sent by mail.
  • For payment certification, please submit a completed form, a sufficiently stamped and self-addressed envelope, and a crossed cheque for HK$30 per copy made payable to “HKU SPACE” to any of our enrolment centres.
