Highlights

Chronic wounds, such as diabetic foot ulcers, pressure injuries, and venous leg ulcers, pose significant challenges in healthcare, with infections complicating up to 60% of cases and contributing to prolonged healing, antibiotic resistance, and increased healthcare costs. Recent trends emphasize proactive approaches, including biofilm management, antimicrobial stewardship, and integration of smart technologies for early detection.

This course, delivered by experienced wound care specialists and/or nurse educators, provides practical knowledge on the pathophysiology of chronic wound infections, evidence-based prevention strategies, and innovative treatments. Participants will learn to identify infection signs, apply advanced dressings, and incorporate multidisciplinary care plans to improve patient outcomes in clinical, community, or home settings.
