Accounting & Finance Risk Management
“Expert Witness Report”and “Forensic Investigation Report”
“ I would like to express my sincerest thanks to tutor Gary Leung, who truly inspired and helped me achieve my academic goals.
Forensic Accounting is a subject which can be practical, but not only in theory. My learning about how prevents and detects faults can be linked up with company environment. Interview skills and investigation method can also apply into projects handling, or even use in daily life. This can strengthen my learning to be more consolidated.
Gary prepared some faults examples in reality (in appendix and assignment) which makes the learning be more attractive and applicable. This also brings out my interest in extension of my study in some other listed companies’ cases.
Before the examination, I consolidated and converted those learning material in my own written notes in summary points. As an extension of study, I will also refer to Gary’s recommended textbook for a deeper learning.”
Upon completion of the Postgraduate Certificate in Business Forensics, students could articulate to the Postgraduate Diploma in Enterprise Risk Management (Pgdip ERM) and could apply exemption for the common module “Internal Controls – Concepts and Issues”. In other words, students would be awarded with the PgDip in Enterprise Risk Management by completing 5 modules.
Pgdip ERM graduates who have completed the pre-requisite modules, would be exempted 120 credits and only need to study the module of ‘Research Methods’ and also submit a 12,000-word dissertation to attain the award of "MSc Risk Management" by Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU).
This programme equips students with accounting knowledge, IT and investigation skills so that they would be able to analyse the financial statement, prevent computer hacking and safeguard the company from fraud incidents.

(**The module final examination will usually account for 50% of the total assessment marks, whilst the continuous assessment will account for the remaining 50%. There is a 70% attendance requirement to sit for the final examination for each module.**)
