1. What is managerial psychology?
Managerial psychology is a sub-discipline of psychology and management, focusing on the understanding of psychological insight for organization behavior from the management perspective. It is also a sub-discipline of industrial and organizational psychology, which focuses on the efficacy of individuals, groups and organizations in the workplace.

2. What is the difference between managerial psychology and business management?
Managerial psychology is about understanding an individual and human relations supported by behavioral science theories, methods and tools, the outcome is on human behavior at work; whereas business management is about learning process, skills and more on quantitative outcomes of a business.
3. Is the programme suitable for people who are working in the field of customer service?
The programme is suitable for people who have to build relations with other people at work, particularly in the field of customer service, sales and marketing, business development, training and development, product development etc.
4. The target groups of this programme are professionals and managers, am I suitable to study this programme if I am not in the management level?
Anybody who is interested in understanding the individual, in enhancing understanding on human relations, and in human aspects of management are welcome to join theprogramme.
5. Any exemption will be granted if I take psychology subjects before?
It depends on the syllabus of the psychology subjects that you have taken before, recognition of prior learning will be considered on case-by-case basis.
6. What is the size class?
The normal class size is from 10 to 20 students in order to be effective in a practical learning environment.
7. What is the difference between the postgraduate certificate and other postgraduate programmes?
Compared to postgraduate certificate programme which contains 2 modules only, this postgraduate diploma programme contains a widened scope of learning content and activities – 10 modules, and is different from other classic programmes by features like mini-lectures, experiential activities and debriefing, practical classes, real case problem solving, small group discussion and presentation.
8. What types of assessment would there be for each module?
There will be continuous assessment in the form of written assignments, in-class test and activities.
9. How many assignments would there be for each module?
It depends on the Module Leader, likely it would be one assignment per module.
10. What is the suggested study period to complete the programme?
We recommend students to complete the programme according to our schedule, which is about 12 months, the maximum study duration is 2 years though it is not encouraged.
11. Can I take one module only and would there be any award upon completing one module only?
The programme has been designed for a holistic learning in managerial psychology and thus will not be offered on individual module base.
12. Any other psychology subjects will be offered in the future?
We plan to offer master level course in business psychology partnering with overseas university in future.
13. Would there be exemption to the master level course if I have completed this programme?
We are actively negotiating with our prospective partner university on the articulation and exemption arrangements of our students. It is very much dependent on the partner university policy and syllabus of the master level course.
